Welcome
Relational, Psychodynamic Therapy in NE Seattle
The type of therapy I practice is aimed at depth rather than quick fixes. While some models of therapy teach skills/tools, my approach focuses on slowing down, giving you (or your child) the time, space, and safety that allows you to feel and process what might be under the surface.

About Therapy with Christine
I work with adults of all ages, teens and pre-teens, and two-person relationships (this includes romantic, sexual, or marriage partners, friends, parent and child, adult or teen siblings, friends, and roommates). While all types of therapy aim to reduce “symptoms” (such as anxiety, depression, addictions, cycles of fighting, communication problems, etc), I hope to go further with you. We will know therapy is helping when you begin to feel more understanding, acceptance, and enjoyment of yourself, more emotional flexibility and attunement to self and others, and a greater ability to process the grief, loss, and change that is a constant of life. The natural effect of this kind of growth is that you will more quickly and easily recognize and pursue joy, aliveness, and connection. For teens, this process often involves discussing present-day events, like what’s happening in a friend group, what’s going on at school and home, etc. Therapy with teens sometimes looks to an outsider like an ordinary conversation, but there is much going on under the surface. Adolescence is inherently a time of psychological growth, the role of therapy is to help facilitate finding one’s voice, preferences, and identity. When I work with teens, I like to loop in parents/caregivers occasionally, while preserving the child’s confidentiality, on what we are working on, and how parents might support their child’s growth. For adults, we will likely spend time reflecting on your early relationships (usually parents, caregivers, and siblings, sometimes a wider religious or cultural group). These relationships formed the lifelong basis for your experiences of safety/threat, care/neglect, warmth/coldness, self/other. In couples therapy, we will review both parties’ early life experiences. Reflecting on what you experienced as a child, teen and young adult will greatly help us to understand your current life and struggles.
Practical Details
Fees, Insurance and Scheduling
My fee is $225 for a 53 minute session, and $250 for a 75 minute session.I am in network with First Choice (which includes Kaiser PPO plans) and Premera Blue Cross. (See insurance note below)For individual therapy, we will meet weekly or more frequently as needed. I do not provide bi-weekly or monthly therapy for individuals. For couples therapy, you can choose between meeting weekly for 55 minutes, or every other week for 75 minutes.I work mornings and early afternoons, with limited late afternoon times reserved for teens, teachers, or others who are unable to meet during the day. Please Note, I take insurance in order to provide therapy for those who would be absolutely unable to afford therapy outside of insurance. If your insurance is provided by a large company such as Amazon, Microsoft, or Google, you likely have excellent out of network benefits. I encourage you to select a therapist who is NOT in network with your insurance, and seek out of network reimbursement. This allows the therapist to receive appropriate compensation while reserving in network therapists for those who do not have as robust insurance plans (eg, plans purchased from the marketplace). Most unfortunately, it is no longer possible to sustain a therapy practice by taking insurance, so those of us that still do must manage our practices carefully.
